Shocker! Cheryl Cole Ready To Reunite With Girls Aloud!

Well, that didn't take long at all!
Although it seemed doubtful, given her solo career and gig on The X Factor, that Cheryl Cole would ever return to the group with which first garnered success, Girls Aloud, the pop star is said to be focusing all of her energy on returining to her roots and preparing [...]

America's Got Talent on TV

NBC's got talent when it comes to producing winning reality-performance competition shows!

Last night, America's Got Talent debuted to record numbers with 15 million viewers during the first hour and 16.6 million the second.

The nationwide talent show then boosted viewership for The Voice, which had taken a ratings dip, but garnered 14.4 million viewers on Tuesday night.

The talented combo made NBC the most watched network on Tuesday night, beating out ABC's NBA Final between the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks.

Not too shabby! On the other hand, what is America to do without any more Idol this season?

We're curious to see if NBC will remain an audience favorite for vocal competitions when the X Factor premieres on FOX this fall.

Would U watch NBC's talent shows over FOX's?

Elvis Presley Songs: The King of Rock and Roll

Lady GaGa was a studious learner and attended many of New York's institutions for the performing arts. She excelled in any endeavor with each teacher that she had along the way. Pam Philips had a vocal technique class that she gave at NYU titled the CAP21 program and said that her student was hitting high notes as a soprano with an impressive vocal range. Lady Gaga has an insatiable appetite for music knowledge. This was apparent when she asked Pam how to use her voice for pop music by learning how to take 50s and 60s vocals and apply them to contemporary music.

Coachella Expanding To TWO Weekends In April!!!

Wow. Hmm. Good thing - or a bummer???

alexander-skarsgard-cover-interview-magazine.jpg

Scalding!!! He's never looked better EVER!

Alexander Skarsgard is this month's SMOKESHOW for Interview Magazine. While we paid more attention to the smoldering shots in the spread he did, courtesy of Steven Klein, we also found some of the tidbits he shared in his interview with Aracde Fire’s Win Butler quite interesting.

Check out some HIGHlights below:

Wanting diversity in his roles: “I do get a lot of scripts sent to me where they basically want me to play Eric from True Blood, but just a different name in a different movie. That’s not interesting to me. I don’t want to play a character that I’ve played for four years on a television show, change the name, and make him a zombie instead of a vampire.”

How he connects with the characters he plays: “In a weird way, I always play myself, just through different mirrors. If I read a script and I don’t connect with a character, if I can’t find the character on the page in my soul, then I’m not going to be able to do a good job.”

What types of roles he wants to play: “There’s got to be something new, something fresh. I want to almost be intimidated when I embark on a journey. I wouldn’t say there’s a fear, but I do get slightly nervous in the beginning when that happens, and I like that feeling. That triggers me a lot.”

Spoken like a true artist.

Wonder what aspects of himself he brings to Vampire Eric. Hopefully it's his glorious need to be nekkid all the time. Mmm!!!

Check out more hot shots of ASkars from the article in the spread (below).

two-and-a-half-men-not-in-the-running-for-best-comedy-series-emmy

Yeah, after the year they've had, we're not surprised!

Although Two and a Half Men is apparently eligible for the nomination of Best Comedy Series at this year's Emmy Awards, sources close to the production have revealed that given the circumstances surrounding Charlie Sheen and his firing from the sitcom, Warner Brothers TV smartly decided to NOT submit it for the accolade!

However, the studio will be creating ad campaigns for series co-stars Jon Cryer, Holland Taylor, Angus T. Jones and Conchata Ferrell in support of their individual nominations, which are normally submitted by their representatives!

As for Sheen, he missed the April 29th deadline!

Shocker! LOLz!

Here's hoping that all of his co-stars get properly recognized for their amazing performances and work ethic, given the circumstances surrounding that this year! They all went above and beyond, and we think that deserves some serious nominations!

Fingers crossed, guys!

Interesting Celebrity Tweets Of The Week!

You got to love celeb tweets! Whether it’s about their latest movie, where their going, a political view, or even a crappie airline that’s really ticked them off (in the case of Nick Lachey!) there’s always a good laugh to be had, or a interesting clue of what’s to come. Get the latest from the celeb twitterverse below. Some big Hollywood stars took to twitter this week to let fans know about what’s going on in their world. From Kim Kardashian’s engagement announcement to Miley Cyrus’ wish for another tattoo, read our twitter round up below. First up on our list of exciting, but questionable tweets, in some cases, is Justin “the Bieb” Bieber. The seventeen year old, who has been vacationing in Hawaii with girlfriend Selena Gomez, took to twitter to debate what movie he’ll be sliding into the DVD player for movie night. “thinking about having a movie night…everyone wants to watch#NeverSayNever3D …..im mean im down…but is that weird? lol.” Weird? Yes! How many times has Bieber watched himself? And while the Never Say Never star was contemplating his next movie, Nick Lachey was having a melt down after a bad flight! Talk about getting some bad publicity! [...]

Since When Is the Saxophone Not a Rock and Roll Instrument?

Cast your mind back to the first time that you heard that soul or rock singer who really captured your ear; the needle hit the groove and the band began to play, with the delicate croon of bluesy soul riding over the music beneath. Wouldn't it be great if we had them now, rather than the terrible pop stars that are force fed into our daily diet of music through the radio and TV?

About The Fender Stratocaster Guitar

Ask anyone to draw a guitar, anyone; doesn't matter how old or young, or what gender, it also doesn't matter where he comes from. I'll bet everything that there are only two things that they will end up with, a scribble of an acoustic guitar, or an electric guitar that looks unmistakably like a Fender Stratocaster.

This is so horrible and so sad.

A bomb went off in Oslo, Norway today, ripping through buildings including the Prime Minister's office.

Horribly, that's not the only incident. Just outside the city, a man dressed as a police officer opened fire at youngsters at a youth camp connected to the ruling party.

It looks like the situations are connected, and sadly it has left at least 7 dead and more injured.

Police Inspector Bjoern Erik Sem-Jacobsen said a suspect in the shooting has been arrested. He said the gunman, who was dressed as a police officer, pulled out a gun and started firing into the crowd of youths. There were unconfirmed reports that five people were wounded in that shooting.

A square in Oslo, where the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded, was covered in twisted metal, shattered glass and documents expelled from surrounding buildings, which house government offices and the headquarters of some of Norway's leading newspapers. Most of the windows in the 20-floor high-rise where Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg and his administration work were shattered.

The damage in downtown Oslo was the result of "two or more bombs," but there aren't many specifics yet.

The Prime Minister, Jens Stoltenberg, who was working from home today luckily, has urged the country not to be afraid, because this kind of violence strives to strike fear.

We support that thought, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't show caution. Be alert and BE SAFE!

It's just absolutely despicable that things like this happen, and there are humans out there capable of doing it. Absolutely atrocious.

Our thoughts go out to everyone who has been rocked by this horrible happening.

Newly Single Jennifer Lopez Surfaces In Public

On Friday we learned the somewhat surprising news that Jennifer Lopez and her hubby of 7 years Marc Anthony decided to end their marriage (reportedly splitting up the weekend before). The first trailer for next Summer’s blockbuster superhero film The Avengers, directed by Joss Whedon, has mysteriously leaked its way online. It was believed that the trailer would debut first at 2011 San Diego Comic-Con next weekend but, as you can see below, the trailer was shown in at least one movie theater this weekend … which was, naturally, filmed and uploaded online. The trailer has been getting yanked down but check out a (dark, shaky, kinda blurry) working embed below … while you still can.

I don’t expect this video to stay online for the entire day. All of the other embeds I’ve found have already been taken down. This clip should debut properly at Comic-Con this coming weekend. As cool as this clip is, I’m really looking forward to seeing it in high res. I love how the audience in the theater cheered at the end. When a movie trailer gets audience approval, you know you’ve done something right.

William Kate Are Apart On His Birthday!

Sad face! At least its for a very good reason.
Today is Prince William's 29th birthday and we thought he'd be spending it with his lovely new wife Kate Middleton. However, turns out William is rather busy today in Wales. The Prince/Duke/Future King is spending his special day pulling a 24-hour shift at work as a [...]

We can't even imagine the horror. So tragic.

The autopsy results have been released for Ryan Dunn and his passenger, Zachary Hartwell and according to the coroner, it is impossible to determine what actually killed the two men - the impact of the crash or the fire the resulted from it. The coroner sadly reported that either way, it was a "violent" death for the men.

Officials are still uncertain whether alcohol played a role in the crash, but will know in 4 to 6 weeks when the toxicology results come in.

Awful. Simply awful. We feel so bad for their families who are surely feeling immense grief. Hopefully, there is some comfort in knowing they are at peace now.

Watch: A Clip Of Taylor Lautner Kickin Ass In Abduction Hits The Internets

Back in April we got our first look at the first movie trailer for Twilight star Taylor Lautner‘s new feature film Abduction. Today, courtesy of Jimmy Kimmel Live, we get to see an almost 1-minute clip from the film that shows Lautner‘s character kickin’ some major ass on a speeding train. I have to say, [...]

After missing the show on Broadway, David and I were very excited to learn that the Tony Award-winning play God of Carnage was being performed here in LA with the original Broadway cast — Marcia Gay Harden, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini and Jeff Daniels. We waited for a performance where we could get really good tickets so that is why we waited until the show nearly ends its run to see it. The show ends performances here in LA this weekend … but we managed to get really good seats for our show. In short, we both loved God of Carnage very much … and we were very surprised at how the drama unfolded on stage ;)

I think it’s best that I not spoil the parts of the show that surprised us the most … but I will tell you that the play is very funny and not at all really dramatic. The acting was superb by all of the players and the story is simple on the surface but fairly complex underneath. I knew the basic premise of the play before seeing the show last night but I was NOT at all expecting it to turn out the way it did. There were parts of the show that were so riotously funny, I almost fell out of my chair. There was another part that almost had me running for cover (we were in the front row). God of Carnage is a fantastic play … one I heartily recommend wholeheartedly. If you get the chance to see it with the original Broadway cast, you MUST! I’m sorry I missed seeing it on Broadway but am very happy that I got to experience the same Broadway magic, with the same players, right here at home in LA.

David and I made it home from Las Vegas, NV last evening with enough time to unwind and relax a bit for the rest of the night. Altho our weekend was fun and relaxing, we didn’t want to go all out last night because we have a big night tonight. We are finally seeing the Broadway hit play God of Carnage here in LA and then later on tonight (well, early tomorrow morning to be exact) I am seeing Prince perform a very intimate concert for 100 people at the House of Blues. Oh yes, it’s going to be a very long night indeed.

David and I missed seeing God of Carnage when it ran on Broadway in NYC last year so we were thrilled to learn that the original cast would be doing the play here. We’ve been looking forward to this show for months so … we are very excited.

On Monday, Prince announced that he is doing 3 shows tonight here in LA at an “intimate venue”. Yesterday, the Prince symbol popped up at the Hollywood Palladium suggesting that he would be playing there:

But it was reported today that he is actually playing the House of Blues in West Hollywood, CA. I cannot attend the 7 or 10pm shows … but I’m going to the 11:59pm show (which is actually scheduled to begin at 1am). OY! I will be dead tomorrow but … the capacity for the midnight show is only 100 people so … it’s gonna be worth it.

I’ll have all the deets tomorrow :D

spiderman-mishap-crew-trapped.jpg

Oh no! The Broadway curse has weaseled its way onto the set of the new Spider-Man movie!

Thankfully, no one was hurt!

Three production grips found themselves trapped mid-air yesterday for three hours while working on the new movie, The Amazing Spider-Man, in Manhattan. The grips were attempting to build a platform six stories high that would support a camera set up on the roof of a building in Chinatown when a malfunction occurred on the crane they were on.

It took the FDNY three hours to finally rescue the three men as the computers for the crane, as one of the grips explained later, "went blank…like someone turned off the dark switch."

Thankfully, firefighters were finally able to get use of a cherrypicker - a crane on a truck with a basket at the end - and got the men down safely. With no one hurt and with every precaution taken to ensure the men were safe from further danger, we think the movie's fairing much better than the Broadway show has.

Let's just hope this isn't a bad omen for worse things to come!

The Best Jackson Browne Songs

Badfinger were one of the first groups signed to the Beatles' new record label, Apple, in the late 1960s. In a previous incarnation, they were known as The Iveys and had enjoyed a moderate hit in Europe with the song Maybe Tomorrow. Badfinger's new association with The Beatles at that time gave them great kudos and access to a pool of talent and resources that most artists would have given their eye teeth for.
